The Parables of the Knees
Man has always been confused about the concept of life. Who are we? Where did we come from? And where are we going to after our time here on earth? The parables of the knees is a tale of how ancient White and Black men navigated earth in early times
The parables of the knees explain how ancient men went on their knees to pray to their gods in search of answers to life’s many puzzles. Men of olden days often went on their knees when faced with challenges like famine and sickness.
They resort to prayers, begging their maker to come to their aid. Whether their prayers were effective or not is a subject of debate. But these antique men had no other solutions to their challenges aside from going on their knees to pray for possible help.
The White-kind
Like the afro tribes of Africa or the people of Asia, the ancient white men were also confused about life and sought answers about their mission here on earth. So, it was normal for them to go on their knees to pray to their gods in search of answers to life’s many questions.
One day, while on their knees praying to their gods for solutions to earth’s many challenges, the white man began to dig the soil. Men have always dug the soil to plant seeds or harvest crops. But this time, man began digging the soil for a completely different purpose.
The white man discovered that buried deep down the soil are solutions to life’s many problems. The white man dug the soil and discovered treasures like iron and tin ores. From these ores, they got metals like iron, copper and tin.
From these metals, the white-kind fashioned several tools to aid his activities of daily living. These tools became very important in the white man’s life. It helped him increase farm productivity and improved his life in general.
Since his discovery of the richness buried underground, the white-kind reduced the amount of time spent praying to God for solutions and spent more time digging the soil to explore the earth.
The Black-kind
On the other end of the parables of the knees were the black-kinds, whom, like other races, also go on their knees to pray to their gods when faced with problems. In these ancient times, the black man was very religious and prayed fervently to their gods for everything. They engaged in several practices, including offering sacrifices to please their gods. Again, whether these religious practices were effective or not remains to be seen.
Till this day, the black man is known to be prayerful and always go on his knees to seek help from God even in situations where simple logic would have prevailed, some blacks still prefer going on their knees to pray. It’s appalling to say the list.
The White-kind vs Black-kind
After the whites discovered the richness of the earth and fashioned tools that enhanced their lives, the white-man embarked on a mission to dominate the earth and its riches thereof. But to dominate the earth, the white man needed to cross the seas to get to other continents like Africa and South and Central America where the inhabitants were still on their knees praying to God for solutions to their problems.
And guess what? The white-kind has dug the earth enough to get vital raw materials and was equal to their task. They constructed massive ships that enabled them to sail the seas successfully to other parts of the earth. The ships were gigantic, beautiful and highly effective to the white man’s quest for dominance.
When they got to Africa, they saw the people on their knees praying to their gods. Praying had become a lifestyle for the Afro people; they prayed at will, even if there was no need for prayers. They just like praying. Prayer had become a hobby to them.

Seeing a different kind of people for the first time, both tribes were equally shocked that the world had different races.
The Encounter
During this meeting of uncertainty and bewilderment, the white men, who were clearly more enlightened than their black counterparts, remembered their mission was to dominate earth. They quickly composed themselves and resorted to acting their script.
They began by questioning the blacks, Why are you always kneeling and praying and who is your God? The blacks replied, We pray to our maker to help us solve our problems. Anytime we are faced with challenges, we go on our knees to seek solutions to our problems.
Then, the whites followed up with a second question: Who is your God? Does he answer your prayers? To which they reply, we don’t know our gods but our fathers and fathers before passed these practices to us. It is all we have in times of problems. In some cases, our gods answer our prayers while in other cases, they do not herken to our cry.
Listening to their replies keenly, the white-kind saw a loophole and planned his next move. He told the black-kind, our gods have been really good to us, he answers our prayers all the time. Whenever we go to him with a request, he never fails us. He always provides a solution to our problem.
Why not abandon your gods and worship ours with us? Look at that massive ship, our gods gave it to us. If you want to live a good life, come worship with us.
White Dominance in the Parables of the knees
Without a second thought, the black man surrounded his life to the white man in a bid to get a good life. So, the white man gave the black some religious book and said, take this manual, you must abide by the rules in this book.
When you wake in the morning, you must pray to our gods to guide your path and help you navigate any challenge you face in the day. Also, before you go to bed, you must pray to our gods to guide you through the night so you don’t encounter any night challenges that might take your life.
If you sleep at night and wake in the morning, you must thank our God for his mercies. Because without his mercies, you wouldn’t be alive to see the day.
Also, in exchange for our good gesture, you would give us your land. We need your land to build a big house for our gods. The black man agreed to all these without asking any questions. They willingly surrendered their lands to the whites in exchange for some religious manual.
At night, the black and white men would go on their knees to communicate with God. While the black man prays to the white-man’s Gods, the white man pretends to be praying and digs the black-man’s soil to extract the riches buried underground
The white man has since gotten up from his knees and seeks physical solutions to problems, while the black man is still on his knees, seeking spiritual solutions to physical problems.
